Important points for Calculation of steel Reinforcement



In this article I will discuss some useful point that how to calculate steel for different structure in civil engineering.

Some points for Steel calculation

1: Deduct the concrete cover for slab if u find the length of main bars and distribution bars in slab or beam etc.

2: Crank length of slab =  l / 5

3: Crank length for beam or slab is 1.41   Remember where   d is the depth of the slab or beam ( but not the diameter of steel)

4: The beam bottom extra length should be take with 1/6

5: The beam top extra length should be take with 1/3

6: The Stirrups hooks should be take with 135 degree angle.

7: Spacing of distribution bar and main bars can take from the center of steel.



8: Steel calculation should be do with this formula ( DxD / 162 ) Where D is diameter of steel in mm.

9: The Stirrups hook length should be take with 9D where D is dia of steel.

10: Densit of steel is 7850 kg/m3
